Wellbeing

Businesses designed with wellbeing in mind sustains and nourishes employees, customers, suppliers and stakeholders - the ripples of wellness keep expanding.

Wellbeing is synonymous with conscious business.

Happy, healthy employees with good work life balance are the foundation of conscious business. Whilst this is not new knowledge the efforts for cultivating wellness are.

Wellness in business embraces workplace design, the nature of the business itself, workplace policies, salary, connection to nature, business purpose and ethics.

Our approach is also to determine how well the business itself aligns with the individual’s self purpose, as this is a key contributor to happiness and wellbeing in the workplace.

Globally business is anything but “usual”. Working from home or remotely has accelerated as a result of the pandemic. Employees are experiencing radical disruption to the way they work and in many cases the nature of their work.

In some cases the radical change has resulted in stress, confusion, anxiety and mental health issues amongst employees. Many people are discovering their resilience and looking for ways to make changes to transform their lives for the better. Working remotely has given business the ability to work flexibly, save employees travel time and expenses, reduced business overheads and provided employees with control and choice in their working environment. Conscious business embraces these new pathways and devises strategies that support mental and physical wellbeing for employees and employers.

“Rethinking the workspace and incorporating biophilic design will be key to attracting and keeping good people.”

Conscious business embraces strategies that support mental and physical wellbeing for employees and employers providing alternative ways of working.

We design and implement strategies to support mental and physical wellbeing and create a business that feels “good”.

“We work with you to develop strategies and offer modalities and co-creators that support wellness which has by no surprise a symbiotic relationship with conscious business success.”

Psychologists and biologists have posited that not only are human beings innately drawn to natural settings and elements having contact with nature or natural patterns within the built environment results in increased employee engagement, efficiency and well-being.

The  framework providing this connection is Biophilic design. This concept is used to increase occupant connectivity to the natural environment through the use of direct nature, indirect nature, and space and place conditions. Different biophilic design elements support different outcomes, some help with stress reduction, others with cognitive function.

Something as simple as incorporating plants or “green walls” into a building helps us create the feeling we are in nature at work. This is not only beneficial for feeling good but can be quantified as helping reduce stress and depression. (Noted to reduce depression by 58% in a study produced by The University of Technology, Sydney).

We co-create places that support wellbeing. Factors like workplace design, layout, non-toxic paint, furnishings, ventilation, sound and light all contribute as environmentally friendly wellbeing alternatives.

Business that starts embracing these changes prior to environmental and health legislative changes will be the new business leaders and have the highest employee retention rates.

Events and entertaining also provide opportunities for cultivating wellness.

How do we help?

We assess your business and devise integrated strategies to co- create “wellness of people and place”. We also help you to find wellness business partners.

We collaborate with architects and designers to help create biophilic-designed business and connections to nature.

We help you to integrate wellness into everything you do.

Wellbeing is no longer adjunct to business, it’s the foundational to long-lasting success. The market is demanding and rewarding this approach.

“We create pathways to nature connectedness, that cultivate wellness.”

Mind your business

Our inability to manage stress has been amplified by the pandemic, “business as usual” has been disrupted and mental wellbeing will continue to be one of our greatest challenges.

Business is demanding more hours of its employees in order to deliver outcomes. This is having an impact on productivity and wellbeing. Looking at new ways of organising your business can drive more sustainable outcomes and make for a more enjoyable workplace.

For example, Telstra, felt that people were fatiguing as a result of managing home schooling in lockdown and juggling work so they decided to give everyone holidays at the same time to ensure that it truly was a holiday, an intuitive and empathic business decision that’s headed in the right direction.

As there is no “new normal” to work, business will need to factor in the ability for employees to disconnect and to develop hybrid work practices. We help you navigate these paths.

We also use meditation and other modalities in our conscious business tool kit for change to help clients tap into their subconscious and to develop self-awareness, mindfulness as a stress management technique.

We also design workshops and retreats in nature that provide employees and clients that incorporate all aspects of wellness.
